Overview
Welcome to Codex
Codex applies the latest Ethereum research to build crypto’s original dream: a global electronic cash system.
We aim to eliminate fiat ↔ crypto friction by embedding programmable, secure, and verifiable onchain ramping, compliance, identity, FX, and fast finality.
What is Codex Chain
Codex Chain is a secure, high-throughput, EVM-equivalent Layer 2 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoin-native payments, FX, and settlement. Unlike general-purpose chains, Codex is optimized at every layer — fee design, gas abstraction, liquidity, and custody — for stablecoin-native applications.
Codex Chain is the core transaction layer of the Codex ecosystem, settled on Ethereum — a stablecoin-native execution environment built to support protocol primitives and applications with strict requirements around execution determinism, network reliability, and atomic settlement.
Why Codex
Stablecoins have grown faster than any financial instrument in modern history, with over $170B in circulation today. Yet most blockchain infrastructure remains structurally misaligned with how stablecoins are actually used.
Today’s users — consumers, fintechs, OTC desks, enterprises — navigate infrastructure designed for speculation, not settlement:
- Liquidity fragmentation: Stablecoins exist in isolated pools across chains and apps, making it hard to route large payments or get consistent pricing without relying on centralized intermediaries.
- Poor UX: Users must repeatedly complete the same compliance steps across different regions and counterparties to fully unlock the potential of stablecoin payments.
- Limited reliability: Outages, latency, and throughput constraints impact time-sensitive flows.
- Lack of native FX: Core primitives like multi-currency routing, pricing, and custody are externalized and inconsistent.
Codex addresses these gaps with an architecture focused on stablecoin utility, not general-purpose compute.
