Finality

As an EVM L2, Codex relies on Ethereum L1 for finality. To keep our costs even lower, we will be implementing a validator set to introduce fast finality. Relying solely on L1 inclusion leads to multi-minute delays. Codex offers institution-backed finality within seconds, allowing users to confidently transact with their funds.

  • Institutional Watch Towers: Codex will have a permissioned validator set that will validate all sequencer transactions. This will give users confidence that the transaction will have finality even before the data is cemented on the data availability layer.
